Wedding Programs

When it comes to your first dance we here at Arthur Murray have you covered. Like are personalized social programs we also personalize are wedding dances making sure they fit exactly what it is you want to look like on your wedding day. Whether it is just wanting to look comfortable and confident on the floor or a stand out routine you can come in for a complimentary lesson and sit down with an instructor to work out all areas of your wedding dance

Here are some helpful hints of things to think about before you come in and on your wedding day:

Hint# 1

Give yourself as much time as possible before the wedding to start with you're dancing. We recommend 3 months if possible that way you don't have to worry about it when all the other stresses of the wedding get closer. That being said we have taught people to dance in a week its just not recommended.

Hint# 2

Bring in music you have thought of for your dance on the first lesson. Finding music can be hard but so long as the song has meaning for both you and your partner we can find a dance that will fit the music.

Hint# 3

Once you have started with your dancing be sure to wear your shoes that you will have on for the day. This way if the ladies are not use to heels or the men dress shoes you can have a chance to wear them in a bit and get comfortable with the shoes on a floor.

Hint# 4

The first dance should be no longer than 2:30 min, this way you still keep everyone interested and keep yourself confident out there in front of family and friends. Your instructor can give you ideas on where to fade the music or if it can be cut down to fit.

Hint# 5

Know your floor size when you come in for your first lesson, this way your instructor can pick a dance that is sure to fit the area you have to dance on.

Hint# 6

Ladies, if you have a train on your dress make sure it is able to be pinned up at the back and you will be able to move and dance in it. This will just make life easier for the whole day if you can get the dress up and out of the way.

Hint# 7

Men, if you are wearing a jacket always have it done up when you are up and about. This way it does not flair out at the bottom and makes all the pictures that are being taken throughout the day look off. When it comes to the dance take the jacket off so the shoulders don t push up and the bottom flair out and cover the bride.

Hint# 8

Lessons for your bridal party can also be offered as one on one session or a group lesson to get everyone in and at least a few basic steps under their belts.
